In its pursuit of cultivating a global mindset and a strong sense of social responsibility among students, the University of Bohol officially launched the Center for Excellence in Arts, Technology, and Sciences (UB CREATES) on April 24, 2025, at the university gymnasium.
The project was formally kicked off with an inaugural program featuring Dr. Tristan L. Abando, Officer-in-Charge Director of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region VII, as the keynote speaker.

The program was hosted by James Emmanuel Tabigue, Marketing Department Head and concurrent Community Extension Services Officer , who served as the master of ceremonies.

UB CREATES is more than just a center—it is a dynamic hub where passion meets purpose and where ideas come to life. Designed to nurture creativity, innovation, and critical thinking, the center serves as a launchpad for aspiring thinkers, makers, and changemakers. It is a bold movement that empowers students to shape the future through their unique talents, vision, and drive. Here, disciplines converge, boundaries are challenged, and the next generation of leaders is forged. (Leo Armando Boncales)
