Coordination meetings have been going on led by Bishop Abet Uy of the Diocese of Tagbilaran.
These meetings are done in preparation for a big event in the province which is the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) Retreat to be held next month.
This activity will be hosted by both the Diocese of Tagbilaran and Talibon it will be week-long event.
Approximately, the retreat will have about 200 church officials and guests participating including all Bishops in attendance with the special participation of the Papal Nuncio to the Philippines.
The lead Secretariat and different working Committees have been formed. The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) under the leadership of Dr. Anthony Damalerio has proposed the establishment of an Incident Management Team (IMT) to handle the safety, security and emergency preparedness aspect of the event for its entire duration here.
The CBCP retreat in previous years, were held in Manila, Bukidnon and Baguio City..
