MORE LIVELIHOOD. Cong. Edgar Chatto along with Jason Pondoc, Department of Labor and Employment Bohol Office livelihood program focal person, turned over livelihood kits for 28 beneficiaries in the first district. This is the latest batch of beneficiaries under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Programme (DILP) or Kabuhayan Programme. The group reached out to Chatto’s office back in August, expressing their need for support for livelihood. Chatto worked with DOLE and with the Alliance of Informal Settlers Organization as Accredited Co-Partner for the beneficiaries’ chosen livelihood activities. These include bakery, barbecue vending, dry goods retailing, fish vending, fishing equipment, street food vending, tableya making, free range native chicken, fruit shake selling, hog raising, motor shop, refrigeration and motor shop, and rice retailing. MAKING A DIFFERENCE THROUGH EDUCATION. A new 2-classroom building was inaugurated at Lopez-Dano-Simbajon High School in Pondol, Loon. Balilihan Vice Mayor and Mayor-elect Trisha Chatto represented Cong. Edgar Chatto during the turnover. She joined DPWH officials, Mayor Elvi Relampagos, Councilor Hazel Saavedra, Barangay Captain Gilbert Sevilla and barangay council, PSDS Mario Garcia, Principal Cherry Murcia, DepEd Rep. Eva Remerata, PTA President Zenaida Mablas, as well as faculty and staff. School officials expressed gratitude to Cong. Chatto for his invaluable contribution to the construction and turnover of our new classrooms. According to the school, Chatto’s support goes far beyond bricks and mortar—it is an investment in the dreams, potential, and future of every student who will walk through the school doors. The classrooms, they said, are a testament to the belief in the power of education and the dedication to building stronger communities. Contributed photo
