A live-action remake of the 2010 hit classic animated film of the same title from DreamWorks, “How To Train Your Dragon” is now showing at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.

American teenage actor Mason Thames, who stars in the sleeper hit suspense-thriller “The Black Phone” alongside Ethan Hawke, plays as Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, a young blacksmith apprentice who befriends the dangerous dragon Toothless despite the wishes of his father, the village chief.

On the rugged isle of Berk, where Vikings and dragons have been bitter enemies for generations, Hiccup, the inventive yet overlooked son of Chief Stoick the Vast, defies centuries of traditional dragon-fighting practice when he befriends Toothless, a feared Night Fury dragon. Their unlikely bond reveals the true nature of dragons, challenging the very foundations of Viking society.

With the fierce and ambitious Astrid (Nico Parker) and the village’s quirky blacksmith Gobber (Nick Frost) by his side, Hiccup confronts a world torn by fear and misunderstanding.

at Screenville Cinemas

From Academy Award-winning director Danny Boyle (“Slumdog Millionaire”) comes the third installment in the post-apocalyptic horror film series, following “28 Days Later” in 2002, and “28 Weeks Later” in 2007, “28 Years Later” will premiere on Wednesday, June 18, at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.

It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a medical research laboratory in Britain that wreaked havoc on the world in the first film. The virus is a virulent disease that transforms its hosts into the ravenous, fast-moving, zombie-like creatures. Despite the government’s attempts to contain it, the infection had spread rapidly.

How much of humanity has survived? What happened to the original survivors in the previous films?

In this year’s sequel, a group of survivors are living on a small island where they managed to find ways to live among the infected. But when one man ventures on a mission into the unprotected mainland, he discovers secrets and wonders that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.

“28 YEARS LATER” will premiere on Wednesday, June 18, at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.
