On its 100th General Assembly, the League of Vice Governors of the Philippines honored its past presidents and chairmen of the board.

First District Solon Cong. Edgar Chatto, past LVGP, was among honorees.

He became LVGP president, with the support of then Executive Director Rollie Fabi and the Chairman of our Board the late Agriculture Undersecretary DV Savellano.

Chatto had initiated as then LVGP president the conduct of out-of-town general assembly meetings and capacity development activities for vice governors.

He also pushed for the sharing of vital local measures like the Bohol Environment Code to all provinces and codification program of local legislations as well as recognition of outstanding vice governors.

Moreover, he spearheaded the establishment of an LVGP office and the  acquisition of a service vehicle.

Later on, he became co-founder of the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP) along with the Governors and Mayors Leagues.

He signed the registration of the umbrella organization with the Securities and Exchange Commission and went on to serve as Founding Secretary General of ULAP.

Chatto expressed gratitude to LVGP for the invitation as well as the honor of being recognized during the 100th General Assembly.

“My skills in law making were honed as Vice Gov. This helped me a lot for my work in various committees of the 5 Congresses,” Chatto, who also began public service, as youth representative in the Kabataang Barangay and ex-officio Board Member.

The LVGP, through its national president Atty. Katherine Agapay, said the organization recognizes the visionary leadership and unwavering commitment of those who established the very bedrock upon which the league has flourished.

The contributions of past presidents stand as exemplary products of the LVGP’s mission, showcasing the highest standards of efficient, effective, and good governance, she added, citing the careers of past presidents as profound examples of continuing governance, consistently rooted in the core values and principles that define the league.
