Good News for Tagbilaranons: Bohol Light Announces Power Rate Reduction This June

Tagbilaran City—In a welcome development for local households and businesses, Bohol Light Company, Inc. (Bohol Light) has announced a 75 centavos per kilowatt-hour (kWh) reduction in residential electricity rates for June.

From ₱11.07/kWh in May, Bohol Light’s average residential rate drops to ₱10.32/kWh this June billing cycle, providing much-needed relief for Tagbilaranons coping with the rising cost of daily necessities.

For an average household consuming 200 kWh per month, this translates to a savings of around ₱150 — extra money that families can now set aside for groceries, school supplies, or other essential needs.

“This rate reduction is our way of easing the burden on our consumers, especially at a time when every peso counts,” said Bohol Light in a statement. “We understand the challenges faced by families and small businesses, and we remain committed to delivering affordable, reliable, and quality power.”

The good news also extends to commercial customers, with average rates for Low-Voltage and High-Voltage consumers set at ₱9.77/ and ₱9.74/kWh, respectively.

The lower rates are mainly due to a decrease in the generation charges result from strategic and efficient energy management of Bohol Light.

Additionally, a significant reduction in transmission charges contributed to the rate adjustment. Ancillary Services and Reserve Market charges dropped by 9.8% and 16.3%, respectively, further lowering the cost of electricity for end-users.

Bohol Light emphasized its ongoing dedication to serving the community beyond delivering electricity. “At Bohol Light, we’re not just powering homes — we support lives. We work tirelessly to manage our resources and market opportunities to pass on savings to our valued consumers,” the company added.

As commodity prices continue to fluctuate, this timely adjustment in electricity rates offers tangible relief to local families and businesses, proving once again that Bohol Light stands with the community it serves.
