A group of watercraft enthusiasts is in Bohol today and tomorrow for an event that will bring the province to a whole new level in sports tourism.
Engr. Gerrymar Batoy of Cebu’s RDAK Power Sports and RDAK Transport Equipment, Inc. said the group will be bringing in jet ski riders from all over the region to the event in Bohol.
The participants from Cebu will ride their respective jet skis from BE Mactan (Cebu) to BE GRAND (Panglao) today, June 21, 2025 to present their skill in watercraft riding in the province for 2 days. The exact water route is from BE Mactan Cebu, to Calape, Bohol, to Loay seas and rivers, then to BE Grand Resort in Panglao.
The tour dubbed as REVRIDE 2025, is an exciting offshore event which the Watercraft Association of Cebu (WAC) and RDAK have been staging. This is being participated in by owners of yachts, speedboats and jet skis including those who have interest in watercrafts.
Batoy said that officers of WAC value their partnership with RDAK Power Sports which is the local dealer of Sea-Doo watercraft, touted as the most popular jet ski brand in the market. He said that most of the participants in the event will be using Sea-Doo branded jet skis.
A Boholano, among others, owns two Sea-Doo watercrafts and, of course, he is a valued client of RDAK. He finds jet-skiing as a wonderful pastime as he and his toy skim over the surface of the water, steering with handlebars and enjoying a sense of speed and freedom. He is no less than the publisher of The Bohol Tribune, owner of Vibe 105.5 FM radio station, and president of the University of Bohol. Congratulations, Dr. Victoriano “Ryan” B. Tirol III.
This event in Bohol is also supported by the Be Group of Resorts in Mactan and Bohol, The Bohol Tribune, and dyTR Tribune radio programs. In interviews with Gerry Batoy conducted by broadcasters Ardy Araneta-Batoy and son Chandy (brother of Gerry), it was learned that jet skiing is not only a form of recreation but a beautiful experience as the rider will be in communion with the resources of nature.
Chris Aleman of the WAC also said the group promotes water sports activities and fun, as the group also educates people towards safe riding and responsible ownership of water craft where they establish a communal life and camaraderie among riders. They are, indeed, committed to help protect marine life and environment.
RDAK and WAC also push for skills development and paternal competition among local and international riders. They invite foreign riders in some of the events – an annual series with four legs. And the Bohol event is considered as a major activity among the legs.
They chose Panglao as their event venue since they believe that the place is one of the most beautiful islands in the country.
Moreover, the group wants to change the notion that jet skis are only for the rich. Aleman said that the supply for brand new units is low as the demand is high. There are pre-loved skis being sold but still not easily affordable. However, if more people buy brand-new units, there will be more pre-loved units flooding the market that will make the units more affordable to more people from all walks of life.
During their ocular visit in Bohol, Batoy and Aleman were with Rex Gamallo, who emphasized safety and respect for the seas when engaging in water craft usage. He said jet ski riding is a form of expressing one’s feelings of reality, joy and gratitude for blessings received from Above.
Moreover, Chris Buhisan who is also involved in jet skis said that riding a jet ski is therapeutic and can help calm his nerves.
Batoy, Alaman and Gamalo were accompanied to Bohol during their pre-event visit by Dodong Arche, Jacq Manlegro and Ann Bacalla – all members of WAC.Batoy said that during the event, Bohol riders could meet up with the WAC riders at sea and both parties will join and move towards Bohol. It is also a way to promote friendship among provinces and cities.
WAC and RDAK are trying their best to conduct more watercraft races and events for people to enjoy and be fond of.
