Congratulations to the Local Government Unit of Balilihan for achieving an “Ideal” functionality level for its Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) for Calendar Year 2025! This recognition is a testament to the council’s commitment to promoting the welfare and protection of children in the community. The LCPC, headed by Mayor Pureza Veloso-Chatto (inset, upper right corner) and Vice Mayor Trisha Chatto, has demonstrated full support in implementing programs for children. Their leadership and dedication have been instrumental in achieving this milestone. To qualify as “Ideal,” an LGU must attain a rating of 80 percent or higher, based on criteria set in DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2021-039. The LCPC functionality audit, conducted annually during the first quarter, evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of LGUs in implementing policies, programs, and projects on major areas of concern for children. This achievement is a reflection of the council’s hard work and commitment to protecting and promoting the welfare of children in Balilihan. Congratulations to the entire LCPC team for a job well done! Contributed photo
