The Local Government Unit of Maribojoc, Bohol, under the leadership of Mayor Romulo “Romy” Manuta (inset upper left corner), has received an “Ideal” rating in the 2025 Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) Functionality Assessment. This prestigious recognition, shared with 27 other municipalities and the City of Tagbilaran, reflects Maribojoc’s commitment to safeguarding children’s rights and welfare through sustainable, child-centered programs and effective governance. The “Ideal” rating, which requires a score of 80-100%, is the highest category in the LCPC Functionality Assessment, conducted annually by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). The assessment evaluates LGUs’ functionality and effectiveness in organizing and maintaining LCPCs, implementing child-focused policies, and institutionalizing child protection mechanisms. This achievement validates Mayor Manuta’s leadership and the collective effort of the Municipal Council for the Protection of Children, social workers, barangay officials, and partner agencies in creating a safer and more nurturing environment for Maribojoc’s children. Congratulations, Maribojoc! Contributed photo
