“When a leader’s story is written, it does not end – it begins to lead others.“

This was how the Kabataan for Chatto movement chose to honor Cong. Edgar Chatto in a youth forum on June 26, 2025.

Youth leaders from across the first district showed force at Panagsandurot, a farewell event, which the organizers described as one that inspired leadership and a sense of community.

Board Member Lawrence Ancla, Sangguniang Kabataan Provincial Federated President, underscored Chatto’s leadership embodied in the popular statement “Leadership is a gift from God for man to develop and share with others.”

“We are very thankful kita sa probinsya sa Bohol, dili lang sa first district, that he chose the path of public service,“ Ancla said citing Chatto’s legacy that did not stop at developmental and institutional projects but also on the personal advocacy of empowering the community, especially the youth sector.

Chatto for his part thanked the organizers and youth leaders for the chance to share how his governance journey came full circle with the event being one of the last major activities he attended at term-end.

“Our shared pursuit of something greater for our dear Province will hopefully inspire more young servant leaders to take the challenge of leadership with passion and integrity,” Chatto said.

A Kabataang Barangay, Chatto at 20 years old, sat as ex-officio Board Member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Bohol.

He remarked at how fitting the chosen theme was, “Every denouement is a new beginning.”

“The road ahead may have changed but I hold the same unwavering commitment to serve others, albeit in a different capacity,” he stated.

Chatto also reiterated his commitment to meaningfully contribute to sustainable community development and nation-building as a lifetime goal.

On the same day, copies of the newly launched biography “EDGAR: Leadership and Beyond” authored by  Ludwig Bon Quirog were officially turned over to the Bohol Provincial Library, received by provincial librarian Maria Vida Aparicio, Librarian, and the First Congressional District Library, received by Maria Deborah Tagailo.
