In a grand celebration that embodied elegance, tradition, and joy, Kirsten Maye “Kim” D. Bernales marked her 18th birthday in style. The youngest daughter of Engr. Eutiquio and Mrs. Mafay Bernales was showered with love and admiration by family and friends at the Henann Resort’s Ballroom on June 7, 2025.
Inspired by the iconic film “Crazy Rich Asians”, the debut was a masterclass in tasteful planning and execution. The venue was transformed into a vibrant yet classy space, complete with dramatic lights, LED walls, and a live feed setup by Active Events. Low-lying fog added a touch of whimsy as Kim made her formal entrance, wearing a stunning gown designed by EJ Relampagos.
The event was a result of meticulous planning and execution coordinated by “SMILE” – PHILIPPINE, under the baton of it’s director Gloria Leodivica Ines Araneta. The program, hosted by Raul Gatal, featured traditional elements, including the 18 Roses, 18 Treasures, 18 Wishes, and 18 Blue Bills. Kim’s siblings – Angienynn, Jeff Anthony, Shaina, and Bea Mae – each played a special role in the program, making the celebration even more meaningful.
The dance performances were choreographed by the Vanguardians Dance Company, while the Boyoung Band provided live music throughout the evening. Guests indulged in a wide variety of dishes from Henann Resort’s buffet service, including a crowd-favorite lechon by Benie’s and local ice cream flavors from Bohol Bee Farm. A coffee station was also available for those who needed a caffeine boost. The beautiful birthday cake, crafted by Smoque, was a highlight of the night.
Other suppliers included a team of experts. Belle of a Bride, led by Ms. Marigold Zaldivar Fuego, styled the venue, while Ellen Gonzales & Co. who handled Kim’s hair and makeup. Photographers and videographers from Gerald James Cabal & Co. and Ivan Jaluag captured the entire celebration.
In a heartfelt speech, Kim expressed her deep gratitude to her parents, family, guests, and the team who helped make her celebration possible. The evening was a testament to the Bernales family’s values and closeness, filled with laughter, meaningful memories, and love. As one guest put it, “It was beautiful, personal, and truly Kim.”
