LGU Buenavista Celebrates Nutrition Month with Buntis Congress 2025. On July 9, 2025, the Local Government Unit (LGU) Buenavista and Rural Health Unit (RHU) Buenavista organized Buntis Congress 2025 to promote safe pregnancy and maternal well-being as part of the July Nutrition Month celebration. The event was spearheaded by Nutrition Officer Ma. Sha Zsa Patayon, Municipal Health Officer Dr. Marivic Chua (front row, 2nd from right), and Dr. Philippe Angelo Mamaril, with the full support of Vice Mayor Elsa Daka Tirol, SB Committee Chair on Health Kag. Ralph Walden Celosia, and the rest of the health and LGU personnel. The congress provided free services to pregnant women, including ultrasound, consultation, laboratory tests, medicines, vitamins, and maternity kits. Participants also received orientation on PhilHealth programs and benefits. Notably, Buenavista’s efforts in implementing nutrition programs have led to a significant decline in malnutrition rates, dropping from 1st to 38th among 47 municipalities in Bohol.
