A 22-year-old Grade 10 student was arrested Thursday night in a buy-bust operation that netted approximately 1 kilogram of suspected methamphetamine worth P6.8 million, police said.
Joshua D. Cabido, an unemployed resident of Purok 1, Barangay Mantatao in Calape, Bohol, was apprehended at 11:50 p.m. at the Inabanga port in Barangay Tungod, according to Police Captain Albert R. Sator of the Inabanga Police Station.
The suspect, classified as a high-value individual by authorities, allegedly operated across Inabanga and neighboring municipalities.
Intelligence reports indicate he could distribute up to 1 kilogram of illegal drugs weekly, with supplies allegedly coming from someone known only as “Tsoy Tsoy.”
Sator said Cabido arrived by pump boat from Cebu carrying the illegal drugs.
The suspect had been under surveillance for two weeks following reports of his involvement in the illegal drug trade.
“The arrest is a big blow to the drug network in Bohol,” Sator said in a statement.
The operation involved personnel from the Drug Enforcement Unit, Police Intelligence Unit and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Joemar S. Pomarejos.
Cabido is currently detained and charges are being prepared against him.
The bust adds to a series of major drug seizures in Bohol in recent years.
