NOW SHOWING
“The Fantastic Four” at Screenville Cinemas
The second reboot of Marvel Comic’s Fantastic Four film series about a family of superheroes and the cosmic threats they must battle together, “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” is still showing on its third week at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.
Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, the film brings back to the widescreen the beloved first family— the genius Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal), his fiancée Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby), her human torch brother Johnny Storm (Joseph Quinn) and pal Ben Grimm (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet.
As we know, the Fantastic Four got their incredible powers after a space mission where they encountered cosmic radiation. Reed has an elastic body, Sue becomes invisible, Johnny can switch into a being of flame, and Ben turns into a rock creature.
Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god, the planet-devouring cosmic being called Galactus, and his enigmatic Silver Surfer.

“THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS” is still showing at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.
COMING SOON
“Weapons” at Screenville Cinemas
A mystery suspense-thriller about the case of seventeen kids who mysteriously disappear overnight without a trace, “Weapons” will premiere on Wednesday, August 6, at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.
One night in a small American town, an entire class of elementary school pupils strangely vanish on the same night at exactly the same time. At 2:17 a.m. dawn, every kid woke up, got out of bed, walked downstairs and into the dark—and they never came back.
One of the parents of the missing children (played by Josh Brolin) points the finger at the kids’ teacher (played by “Silver Surfer” actor Julia Garner) as a prime suspect. But the school teacher, who arrives to work one morning, is baffled to find her entire class went missing.
All but one child named Alex Lily (Cary Christopher) from Justine Gandy’s classroom is the only one who did not disappear. Now, the whole community is left questioning who or what is behind their disappearance.

“WEAPONS” will premiere on Wednesday, August 6, at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.

Pink Run 2025 set October 5
All is set for this year’s Pink Run, the most prestigious charity run organized for the fourth time in a row by the Alturas Group of Companies (AGC), through its Alay Marcela Foundation, to promote breast cancer awareness and at the same time help provide financial assistance to the cancer patients and survivors.
According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every two minutes; thus came a strong clamor to promote more awareness about early detection and prevention of the deadly disease, especially among the vulnerable women population.
After the successful Pink Run in 2022, 2023, and 2024, AGC scheduled the Pink Run again this year on October 5, Sunday, starting at Island City Mall, in time for the nationwide observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month of October. There were 25 beneficiaries of the gross proceeds of Pink Run 2022, 27 from Pink Run 2023, and 32 from Pink Run last year.
The Pink Run 2025 is open to all runners of all ages, amateur and professional, or even running enthusiasts. Categories are 5K, 10K, and 21K. The registration is now going on online, until September 5.
