Cortes Unites for Abatan River’s Future! A full council meeting and election of new officers for the Abatan River Development Management Council was held alongside the partners in Cortes town – Vice Mayor Niño Hinay Lumanas, and the mayors and vice mayors of member towns (Cortes, Maribojoc, Antequera, Balilihan, and Catigbian), with Cortes Mayor Rodrigo Dennis Uy (extreme left) on July 26, 2025. In the gathering, various issues and plans were discussed for the improvement and protection of the Abatan River – a cherished natural source of life, tourism, and culture in the area.
