In this slapstick revival, Oscar nominee and “Taken” star Liam Neeson is cast as Lt. Frank Drebin, Jr., son of the deadpan detective (played by Nielsen before), who is one of the top cops in the Police Squad, a special unit of the LAPD. Together with his partner, Capt. Ed Hocken Jr. (Paul Walter Hauser), they investigate the suspicious death of tech programmer Simon Davenport (Jason MacDonald), who is said to have driven his car off a Los Angeles mountain.
Frank assumes that the case of the drowning of Simon is that of suicide. But soon, he realizes that there’s something more about the case. Simon’s sister, Beth Davenport (Pamela Anderson), also convinces Frank of foul play about her brother’s death. His mysterious death ties to a rich man named Richard Cane (Danny Huston), and Frank and Beth partner up to bust up Cane’s dastardly secret plans. Meanwhile, Richard is all set to create havoc in the world and that may have led to Simon’s murder.
