Camp Dagohoy anti-narcotics officers seized over one kilogram of suspected crystal methamphetamine or shabu worth P7.04 million pesos and arrested a high-value drug suspect in a sting operation in Bohol province, police said Tuesday.

The operation, conducted Monday evening in Tagbilaran City, resulted in the arrest of a 40-year-old unemployed man identified only by his alias “Nonoy,” according to the Bohol Police Provincial Office.

Police confiscated 1,035 grams of suspected “shabu” – the local term for crystal meth – along with a .45-caliber pistol, ammunition, a mobile phone and a motorcycle allegedly used for drug transportation.

The suspect, a resident of Carmen municipality, Bohol, was detained following the buy-bust operation in Barangay San Isidro, Tagbilaran City at around 6:51 pm.

“This arrest demonstrates our relentless efforts to suppress illegal drugs here in Bohol,” Provincial Police Director Colonel Arnel Banzon said in a statement.

“We will continue to arrest all those involved in illegal drugs, whoever they are, until our communities become safe and drug-free.”

The operation was jointly conducted by multiple police units including the Provincial Intelligence Unit, Regional Intelligence Division, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency’s Bohol office.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Norman Nuez urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to authorities.

“Our fight against illegal drugs will only succeed if we work together with the people,” he said.
