INTER-SCHOOL DRUM-LYRE COMPETITION ENERGIZES LOON FIESTA. The Loon Town Square became the grand stage of rhythm, discipline, and youthful energy last August 24, 2025 (Sunday, 1:00 PM) as the much-awaited Inter-School Drum-Lyre Corps Competition electrified the atmosphere of our fiesta celebrations! Hosted by the SK Municipal Federation of Loon as part of Linggo ng Kabataan 2025, the event also stood as a proud highlight of the SidlaKasilak Festival and PaghiuSadya 2025, gathering schools and supporters in a showcase of talent, unity, and school pride. From the first beat of the drums to the last synchronized step, the afternoon was filled with: Explosive drum cadences that energized the crowd, Lively lyre melodies harmonizing with each formation, Captivating performances that showed grace and confidence, And a cheering audience that brought the festive spirit of Loon to life! After an afternoon of breathtaking performances, here are the official winners: Champion – Sacred Heart Academy; 1st Runner-Up – Calape National High School; 2nd Runner-Up – Sandingan National High School and 3rd Runner-Up – UB-Loon Institute. Congratulations to our winners and heartfelt appreciation to all participating schools for their dedication, artistry, and passion. Every contingent made this competition a true celebration of youth talent and Loonanon pride. This successful event is a testament to the partnership of the SK Municipal Federation of Loon led by SKMF-Loon and SKPF President Lawrence Ancla and LGU Loon led by Mayor Yul Lopez (front row, extreme left) with the 16th Sangguniang Bayan under the leadership of Vice Mayor Pedro Literatus, SB-Members, Dondon Marapao, Dondon Relampagos, Hazel Saavedra, Rain Merquita, Wilo Tan, Jeanette Vidal, Ruel Legitimas and Etel Palma with the Ex-officios Kagawad Tata Laniba and Mariel Juntilla, creating meaningful platforms for the youth to shine and contribute to our community’s cultural celebrations.
