Two of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn, star in this epic action thriller about an ex-revolutionary who must rescue his daughter from a corrupt military official. “One Battle After Another” is now showing at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.
Bob Ferguson (DiCaprio) is a former left-wing activist haunted by the ghosts of his past. He spent years building bombs to blow up banks and government buildings. Now, he is a stay-at-home dad to Willa (Chase Infiniti), living with his daughter in an isolated place.
However, he has to reunite with his old friends when Willa gets abducted by Col. Steven J. Lockjaw (Penn), an old enemy who vowed to destroy Bob’s world when Perfidia Beverly Hills left the former to be with the latter.
Based on one of the finest novels, Vineland by Thomas Pynchon, “One Battle After Another” is a strong contender for the 2026 Oscars. The film is filled with chases across deserts, cities, and dusty towns. The good guys are seen chasing the bad ones throughout the film to rescue Willa.

Martial arts superstar Jackie Chan is back facing off against a criminal mastermind and his elite group of professional thieves in a full-throttle war of shadows and strategy in the action-packed cyber-heist thriller, The Shadow’s Edge, which will premiere on Wednesday, October 1, at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.
A crew of cunning and treacherous thieves with extraordinary technical skills has the Macau police baffled, as they can evade the authorities’ state-of-the-art Eye Sky surveillance system.
Desperate and outmaneuvered, the police decide to enlist the help of retired cyber-intelligence expert Wong (Jackie Chan), who left the force years ago. A master of stealth, Wong forms an elite surveillance team to track down the mastermind who has evaded capture for years. Following cryptic clues through Chinatown’s night markets and rooftop alleyways, Wong must outsmart assassins, unravel conspiracies, and fight his own past.
Under the collision of traditional tracking techniques and high technology, the police and the criminals engage in a cat-and-mouse duel of wits and courage between good and evil.
