Amid rising electricity costs nationwide driven by fuel price volatility, currency fluctuations, and increased generation and transmission charges, Bohol Electric Cooperative I (BOHECO I) reaffirmed its commitment to protecting its Member-Consumer-Owners (MCOs).
For September 2025, BOHECO I’s residential rate is P11.0088 per kilowatt-hour, up slightly from P10.5676 per kilowatt-hour in August, despite significant upward pressure from escalating power costs across the Philippines.
The cooperative’s rates remain among the most stable and competitive in the Visayas.
“This is more than just a number,” said BOHECO I General Manager Engr. Dino Nicolas T. Roxas.
“It represents our continued effort to shield our MCOs from drastic increases while ensuring reliable, affordable, and quality electricity service,” he added.
BOHECO I noted that generation charges remain volatile due to global fuel prices and fluctuations in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM).
The cooperative works diligently to manage costs within its control to provide maximum value to its MCOs.
BOHECO I’s ability to maintain rate stability reflects its mission as a community-owned cooperative to prioritize people and uphold its responsibility to serve, protect, and empower every household and business it serves.
“In every fluctuation, our MCOs can rest assured that BOHECO I is a partner in Bohol’s progress, lighting every Boholano’s journey toward a brighter, more secure, and truly delightful future,” Roxas said.
