The Independent Commission on Infrastructure (ICI) has requested the Department of Justice (DOJ) place two individuals from Bohol on an immigration lookout bulletin as it investigates alleged corruption in government infrastructure projects.
The commission asked that Education Undersecretary Trygve Olaivar, husband of Candijay Mayor Thamar Olaivar, and Carlene Yap Villa, first degree cousin of Bohol First District Congressman Baba Yap, be added to the watch list to ensure their availability for questioning.
The ICI also requested lookout bulletins for several current and former senators and lawmakers.
Officials from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) are also among those the commission wants monitored.
An immigration lookout bulletin requires immigration officers to monitor individuals’ international travel and alert authorities when they attempt to leave the country.
The measure does not prevent departure but ensures the government can track their movements during ongoing investigations.
