NOW SHOWING
“Tron Ares”

at Screenville Cinemas

The third installment in the “Tron” film series and a sequel to “Tron: Legacy” in 2010, “Tron Ares” is now showing at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.

A highly sophisticated program, Ares, is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with AI beings. Jared Leto stars as the titular Ares, a highly advanced program who enters the real world looking for something. Jeff Bridges also returns reprising his role of Kevin Flynn.

Utilizing revolutionary special effects like backlit animation and computer-generated animation, Tron: Ares is seemingly a soft reboot for the franchise, telling its own original story with a new protagonist. However, make no mistake, “Tron Ares” seemingly connects with the storyline set up by the prior films.

“TRON ARES” is now showing at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.

In the first film, Hawke (“Training Day”) plays the most horrifying villain as a child kidnapper and serial killer, nicknamed The Grabber.   Four years after, Finney is now a teenager still trying to deal with the lingering trauma after his captivity. Meanwhile, his sister Gwen starts having terrifying visions of mutilated children and nightmares with a phone ringing. When Gwen’s visions draw them to a remote winter camp, the siblings uncover a dark family secret and face the vengeful spirit of the killer they thought was gone forever.

With more anguished souls seemingly in peril, Finney and Gwen seek to bury their demons once and for all.
