Cortes, Bohol Mayor Rudy Uy has announced that the municipality has launched a series of activities leading up to its Foundation Day celebration on October 21, 2025.
In a Wednesday interview with dyTR’s Ardy Araneta-Batoy, Uy outlined the programs lined up for the occasion.
The celebrations opened with the Alegre Cortes Food Bazaar and an agri-fair that ran from Wednesday through October 16.
Uy said residents from Cortes and nearby towns visited the fair to browse the offerings.
The fair featured various food products, mainly from local farmers and fishers.
Each barangay set up a booth, giving farmers and fishers a venue to display and sell their products.
A main program is set for Tuesday, with provincial officials including Governor Aris Aumentado and First District Rep. Baba Yap expected to attend.
The event will be held at the town’s amphitheatre, Uy said.
During the interview, Uy also spoke about policies on class suspensions during calamities, saying new guidelines seek to ease the burden on mayors who often face pressure in such circumstances.
