GOLDEN YEARS OF LOVE
Rudy and Roberta Tutor Celebrate 50 Years of Lifelong Devotion
(by Gloria Leodivica Ines Araneta of ‘SMILE”, Philippines)
A marriage that has spanned half a century is more than a love story—it is a legacy of faith, family, and resilience. For Rudy Olaer Tutor and Roberta Calolo Tutor, October 12, 2025, was not just a date on the calendar but a golden milestone in their lifelong journey together.
Fifty years ago, on October 12, 1975, the two exchanged vows at San Joaquin & Sta. Ana Church in Alicia, Bohol, with Rev. Fr. Abrau officiating. That moment marked the beginning of a shared life built on devotion, hard work, and love that extended not only to their children but to their community. Today, Rudy is a retired BDO Manager, serving as Punong Barangay of La Union, Candijay, and ABC President, while also holding the position of Vice-President of the Liga ng mga Barangay (Bohol Chapter). Roberta, born in Alicia, Bohol, has stood beside him as wife, mother, and grandmother—quietly strong, gracious, and ever supportive.
The celebration at Shang Palace Seafood Restaurant was beautifully intimate, with family and friends filling the evening with warmth. The event began with a grand entrance and golden dance, as Rudy and Roberta made their way into the hall hand in hand, a picture of enduring partnership. A prayer of thanksgiving was led by Rev. Fr. Diosdado Ranara, followed by a sumptuous dinner accompanied by the music of Joseph Gara. Then, a heartfelt slideshow tribute with video greetings from loved ones traced the couple’s life journey, while presentations from their grandchildren made the night truly memorable. The highlight came during the cake ceremony, symbolizing the sweetness of fifty golden years. Later, Rudy himself addressed the gathering, not as a community leader, but as a husband, father, and grandfather deeply grateful for the love that has sustained his family.
With Gloria Leodivica Ines Araneta of “SMILE”, Philippines as event master of ceremonies, every detail was handled with care and dedication—San Antonio de Padua Church for spiritual blessing, Joseph Gara for entertainment, Mackie Pro for the sound system, Jared Pino of Jared Photography for the photos, and Artline by Mark Ramasola capturing timeless moments on film.
Their children—Rowena “Tawing” with Alfred, Roy with son Miles, Dr. Chai with Pitpit and their children Pitchai, Chika & Luri, and Rhea with Earl Rebosura and son Manu from Texas—stood proudly beside them, symbols of the life and love they nurtured together.
As the night drew to a close with music and laughter, it was clear that Rudy and Roberta’s story is one of faithfulness, love, and legacy. Their golden wedding anniversary was not just a commemoration of the past fifty years, but a joyful affirmation of the future—a reminder to all that true love, when nurtured, only grows brighter with time.
