The local government unit of Balilihan is developing a website to promote good governance and transparency, Mayor Atty. Trisha Chatto announced.
Chatto disclosed the plan during an interview with Ardy Araneta-Batoy on the Oct. 23, 2025 episode of DYTR’s “Newsmakers ug Uban Pa.”
The mayor said the website project has been in the pipeline for several years and is now being actively pursued under her administration.
The website will serve as an information portal for the LGU, including executive orders, ordinances and requirements for obtaining government assistance, Chatto said.
She said the site will be built with robust protections against trolls and disruptive online commenters.
The website will have its own administrator, and Chatto said she trusts LGU personnel to protect the interests of both the government and the people.
Chatto said her leadership is based on consultation.
She said she is not afraid to seek advice from people with greater experience and expertise to make the right decisions for Balilihan.
“We are doing the best that we can for the benefit of the town and our people,” she said.
Chatto said she is open to different points of view and believes in working collaboratively to tackle issues and find solutions.
She acknowledged that LGU limitations sometimes prevent immediate solutions, but vowed to find ways to address problems facing her administration.
Some issues may require careful planning and compliance with legal requirements before solutions can be implemented, she said.
