In this ongoing saga of corruption investigations and endless hearings in both houses of the legislature, it is clear that the use of dummies as personal and corporate fronts to shield key players in the scandal are the norm.
Purported divestments by our public officials in businesses that deal with government are but mere compliance to the law to show that no conflict of interest exists.
But in truth, info on these divestments are as hazy as can be and nowhere near transparent.
Digging deeper, oftentimes the money trail establishes that despite these moves, these crooks are still the beneficial owners and continue to enjoy the fruits of their corrupt practices.
Like an old boys club they protect one another and often create scenarios to muddle the issue and keep the truth farther away.
Propaganda machines and crisis PR run at overdrive to ensure that it becomes more difficult to distinguish the truth from the lies peddled around.
On one end of the spectrum are the cold, calculating manipulators who rig public opinion to favor their interests.
Thus it is gravely important that we be discerning to avoid being misled.With AI and other digital tools available to anyone with skill, truth becomes harder to establish.
Yet peeling the elaborate coverups layer by layer exposes the ugly truth we long suspected.
The corruption is deep-rooted and widespread.It is such that institutions we used to trust are not spared.
At the end of a very long and tiring day, smart operators are left untouched. Small fish are
left to dry in the scorching sun while the big fish conveniently get away.
Dummies and fall guys become fodder for the people crying out for blood, while the key players are waltzing their way to the Caymans or Liechtenstein!
