The Grand Ballroom at Metro Centre Hotel wasn’t just a venue on December 6, 2025; it was a vessel filled with the warmth of shared memories, the sparkle of genuine affection, and the quiet pride of witnessing a life well-lived. It was Dr. Lumin T. Pamaran’s 75th birthday, and the air hummed with a celebration of her remarkable journey.

As guests mingled, savoring the delightful pica-pica bites prepared by Biyan’s, the melodies of Arthur Ungab filled the air, setting a tone of joyful anticipation. But the true magic began with Dr. Pamaran’s entrance. Radiant and graceful, she embodied a lifetime of wisdom and grace, drawing a collective gasp of admiration from the room.
One of the evening’s most poignant moments was the presentation of a bouquet by her husband, Engr. Francisco “Noning” Pamaran. Their eyes met, a silent conversation passing between them – a testament to decades of unwavering love and partnership. As they danced to “She,” sung with heartfelt emotion by Arthur Ungab, it was clear that their bond was the heart of the celebration.

The traditional rituals of a birthday celebration followed: the lighting of candles, the sharing of cake, and the offering of heartfelt prayers led by Engr. Pamaran.

As guests dined and shared stories, a slideshow flickered on the screen, offering glimpses into Dr. Pamaran’s life – from childhood dreams to academic achievements, from family gatherings to moments of quiet reflection.

Dr. Pamaran’s legacy extends through her children: Nomi Pamaran married to George Craff, Francis Pamaran married to Roche Tutor, and Luane Pamaran married to Crisologo Avanzado.
She is also blessed with grandchildren: Zachary and Zoya Avanzado, and Franchesca, Francine Lumier and Frankie Luri Pamaran.

The evening culminated in a moving toast by Engr. Pamaran, his words painting a vivid portrait of a woman who has touched countless lives. Dr. Pamaran’s response was equally heartfelt, her gratitude extending to every person in the room.
As the celebration continued, with music and laughter echoing through the night, it was impossible not to be inspired by Dr. Pamaran’s story. A woman who rose from humble beginnings to becoming a respected educator and leader at the University of Bohol, she embodies the power of perseverance and the importance of faith.
When asked about her legacy, Dr. Pamaran’s answer is simple yet profound: she hopes to be remembered for her personal relationship with God. Her prayer, when she stands before her Maker, is to hear the words, “Well done, my child.”
