Bohol Light looks back on the first year of being under the management of Primelectric Holdings, Inc.
Jun Monreal, Bohol Light’s representative, mentioned this milestones
during his guesting at Newsmakers ug Uban Pa program on Jan. 7, 2026.
He said under Primelectric, more people in Tagbilaran managed to gain legitimate electrical connections.
Based on the latest data as of December 2025, there are 24,138 consumers under Bohol Light, which is a 146 percent increase compared to the numbers logged in 2024.
The improvement was due to a number of initiatives and programs implemented by Bohol Light as it enabled faster application processes that includes faster visits to barangays to conduct information and education campaigns for residents to inform them about the importance of having legitimate electrical connections.
Moreover, initial inspections were conducted in each site seeking an electrical connection to hasten the application process with Bohol Light.
Another way to make application easier, Monreal said, is the reduction in the number of requirements from 11 down to 4 requirements. The aim is to make the process simpler.
Furthermore, they are doing better coordination with the Office of the Building Official (OBO) for those with pending application for certificate for final electrical inspection to hasten the process in order to fast track the electrical connection. This way, they are able to help the applications of people that are pending with the OBO.
Monreal said the steps taken by Bohol Light enable faster and easier application processes for new electrical connections as Bohol Light continues with its aim to improve the distribution of electricity in Tagbilaran City.
