Mayor Yap updates Tagbilaranons on Super Mega Health Center progress

City Mayor Jane Yap has shared a first-week-of-2026 progress update on the Tagbilaran City Super Mega Health Center through her official Facebook page, highlighting the city government’s continued commitment to accessible and comprehensive healthcare services for all Tagbilaranons.

In her post, Mayor Yap reported that the Super Mega Health Center is due for completion, marking a major milestone for the health facility, which is part of Tagbilaran City’s zero-loan development projects initiated in 2013.

“The direction and priority are clear: healthcare services for all Tagbilaranons,” Mayor Yap stated.

She added that as tax season begins, it is important for residents to see how public funds are being translated into tangible programs and facilities that directly benefit the people.

The Tagbilaran City Super Mega Health Center is envisioned as a one-stop shop for health services, bringing together a broad range of medical, preventive, and support services in one centralized facility to improve access and efficiency.

Among its core health services are general health checkups—complementing the continuing deployment of doctors in barangays—laboratory services, diagnostic and imaging laboratories, a vaccination center, an animal bite treatment center, a birthing and lying-in center, a minor operating room, a pharmacy, a TB-DOTS clinic, and a hygiene clinic.

The center will also offer specialized and sector-focused services, including a senior citizens rehabilitation and daycare facility, a Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Center, the Gugma Center for children with disabilities and special needs, a teen and adolescent health center, a mental health program, a smoking cessation program, and a marriage counseling center.

For public health, safety, and preparedness, the facility will support nutrition programs, Disaster Risk Reduction Management in Health (DRRM-H), the City Epidemiologic Surveillance Unit (CESU), an HIV Hub, a drug testing center, a water testing laboratory, and sanitation and environmental health services.

Mayor Yap also noted that in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH), Tagbilaran City will further expand the Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Services (BUCAS) Center.

She acknowledged the support of Bohol First District Congressman John Geesnell “Baba” Yap II, pointing out that the health initiatives were initiated during his term and expanded under the Yap-Jala administration.

The city government expressed confidence that the Super Mega Health Center, once fully operational, will significantly strengthen Tagbilaran City’s healthcare system and serve as a lasting investment in public health and social development.
