Bohol Light Company, Inc. (BLCI), the sole power distributor in Tagbilaran City, is set to launch major infrastructure projects this year to improve service, streamline operations, and support economic growth.

President and CEO Roel Castro, with COO Raul Venerando Galano, shared the 2026 plans during a press conference at Bohol Tropics Resort on January 12.

Key projects include the construction of a 69KV sub-transmission line from the Corella NGCP Substation to San Isidro, new distribution feeders in Dampas and Poblacion, and the installation of Automatic Circuit Reclosers and Load Break Switches.

BLCI executives said the utility will also build a warehouse, Meter Lab, and Transformer Testing Facility, upgrade the Cabawan and San Isidro lines to three-phase, relocate poles affected by road widening, and integrate a Geographic Information System.

It will continue efforts to electrify informal settlements, install additional Cash Deposit Machines in malls and barangay halls, and expand its Corporate Social Responsibility programs.

Castro noted that Bohol Light now serves 24,138 subscribers, one year after the Primelectric Holdings Inc. takeover.

New connections also jumped 246% in 2025, from 207 to 509, due to barangay visits, faster inspections, closer coordination with building officials, and a simpler four-step application process.
