TOWN NEWS-BILAR

The Local Government Unit of Bilar, headed by Mayor Norman D. Palacio (inset, upper left corner), presented on January 18, 2026 the PAHIYAW Festival, from the Binisaya word “Hiyaw,” which is a joyful cry of praise and thanksgiving. This celebration is all about “Pagdayeg ug Pasalamat” to God and Señor Sto. Niño, recognizing “kinabuhi ug binhi” as symbols of life, faith, and agriculture—celebrated through Sangyaw ug Sayaw (dance, music, and cultural festivities). The PAHIYAW Festival is a meaningful celebration of faith, culture, and unity in the Municipality of Bilar, honoring the Feast of Señor Sto. Niño. (Contributed photo)
