Finding Balance during CUARESMA: A Call to Self-Reflection
As the season of Cuaresma approaches, it’s time to pause and reflect on our actions. For Bishop Abet’s daily homily on dyTR, is not just about fasting and abstinence, but about controlling our abusive behavior.
We need to start with ourselves, examining the choices we’ve made in life. Why are commodities so expensive? Perhaps it’s time to focus on needs, not wants. Let’s balance our budget, plant veggies in our backyard, and help our Local Government Unit (LGU) with waste segregation.
Let’s also remember the victims of the Binaliw landfill tragedy and pray for them. Our situation is
not just about government mismanagement, but our own household mismanagement too.
By the way, haven’t you noticed that our local crops, like ubi and camote, are scarce and expensive because fewer people are farming?
During my younger days, I recall celebrating Arbor Day. It was at this time when we planted fruit-bearing trees.
Now, let’s revisit our priorities. The Department of Education should review the curriculum, especially on sex education.
And with elections looming, let’s choose leaders who serve with kindness and sincerity.
Yes, Cuaresma is a time for discernment and wisdom. Let’s reflect on our actions and make a change. As the people, we have the power to choose better leaders and create a more just society.
CUARESMA is time for reflection; it’s the time for action.
