Advice to Seniors

The old saying goes, “Advice is like medicine: Easy to give, but hard to take.”

So, in today’s article, I am sharing a psychologist’s and an Orthopod’s take on growing older.


Psychologist Hideki Wada’s book “The 80-Year-Old Wall” is breaking records, selling over 500,000 copies and counting! Dr. Wada, 61, shares 44 secrets to a “fortunate” life after 80:


1. Keep walking.
2. Breathe deep when angry.
3. Exercise to stay flexible.
4. Hydrate, especially in summer.
5. Diapers = more freedom.
6. Chew more, brain and body benefit.
7. Memory loss = lack of brain use.
8. Don’t overdo meds.
9. No need to lower BP and sugar too much.
10. Alone time is peaceful, not lonely.
11. Laziness is okay.
12. Ditch the driver’s license if you don’t need it.
13. Do what you love.
14. Natural desires stay with you.
15. Get out of the house.
16. Eat what you like, light obesity is fine.
