The Boy Scouts of the Philippines-Bohol Council inaugurated its new council building on March 31, 2026, marking a milestone for the scouting movement in the province with the completion of the first phase of a facility funded in part through the support of a sitting senator.

Former Rep. Edgar Chatto, who chairs the BSP-Bohol Council, led the inauguration and blessing rites alongside BSP Chaplain Fr. Dudz Lero. The new building is located along CPG North Avenue in Tagbilaran City.

Chatto said Phase 1 of the construction was made possible with financial assistance from Sen. Loren Legarda, one of the country’s most prominent advocates of cultural heritage, environmental protection, and youth development programs.

The facility will serve as the official office of the BSP-Bohol Council staff, headed by Council Scout Executive Hermes Angoy, and will function as an administrative and operational hub for scouters in the province.

Members of the Council Executive Board and staff attended the blessing ceremony.

“The BSP-Bohol thanks all those who have supported the scouting movement through the years in realizing our plans, programs, projects and activities,” Chatto said.

The Boy Scouts of the Philippines, established under Republic Act 7278, operates through local councils across the country and remains one of the largest youth development organizations in the Philippines, with membership spanning elementary through college levels.
