Tagbilaran offers free veterinary services for pets on May 30-31
The City Government of Tagbilaran, through the City Agriculture and Veterinary Office (CAVO), in partnership with Biyaya Animal Care, will once again provide free veterinary services for pets on May 30 and 31, 2026, as part of its continuing drive to promote responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.
City Veterinarian Officer-in-Charge Dr. Carl Leonard Pradera announced that the outreach program will be held at two designated venues: May 30 – Barangay Poblacion I (limited to 100 pets) May 31 – Barangay Poblacion II (limited to 100 pets).
The program is open to Tagbilaran City residents and will offer free spaying services for female dogs and cats.
Other services include pet registration, microchipping, free rabies vaccination, and deworming.
Dr. Pradera emphasized that spay and castration services will be strictly limited to pre-registered pets due to the restricted number of slots.
Pre-registration may be completed through a QR code posted on the official Facebook page of the Tagbilaran City Agriculture and Veterinary Office or through manual listing at Barangays Poblacion I and Poblacion II.
Walk-in clients, however, will still be accommodated for vaccination, deworming, microchipping, and pet registration services.
Mayor Jane Yap encouraged pet owners to take part in the initiative, underscoring its role in advancing public health and responsible pet ownership in the city.
“This initiative reflects our continued commitment to animal welfare and responsible pet ownership. By strengthening vaccination, registration, and population management programs, we also help protect the health and safety of our communities,” Mayor Yap said.
City officials said the veterinary mission is part of the local government’s broader efforts to improve access to animal healthcare services and promote responsible pet care across Tagbilaran City.
