TOWN NEWS-BATUAN

The Municipality of Batuan us doing the installation of solar lights in various areas across town, an initiative of the administration of Emmanuel Aladin D. The Sangguniang Bayan (SB) of Batuan in session, May 18, 2026 led by Vice Mayor Atty. Dodo Morala Jumawid (inset, center), has issued a gentle reminder to the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) to prepare comprehensive contingency measures to support local farmers and residents ahead of the predicted Super El Niño. To ensure a coordinated response, the SB requested the MAO to work closely with the Provincial Government, the Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Office, and the local LGU team. Additionally, the SB, through SB Marvin Pancho, inquired about the status and proper distribution of rice relief for all Batuananons—including the ₱5 million appropriation from the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF). They also sought updates on the distribution of seeds and fertilizers to ensure farmers are fully equipped for the upcoming planting season this June. MAO rep Raland Sarong assured the SB that their concerns be given due consideration by the MAO. (Contributed photo)
