Aside from conducting medical missions, the Tagbilaran Association of Northern California (TANOCAL) also has a student grant program.
This was disclosed by TANOCAL president Arturo Romanos in his Open Forum interview on June 3, 2026.
Romanos said the group is also extending help to local students in their studies.
He said the group supports students who study in public schools, particularly in Tagbilaran, and the group has been working for quite a while in helping the students in their studies.
The study grant is a program that has remained a mainstay.
He said the group provides financial grants to exemplary students who are about to enter college from high school.
The program started in 1978 and the group has maintained the program through the years, he said.
Moreover, there are plans for TANOCAL to tie up with the Tagbilaranon Association of Southern California Inc. (TASCI) to boost the efforts in helping those in need in Tagbilaran.
Romanos said the group is working with TASCI, another group of Tagbilaranons who are based in Los Angeles and southern California, to come up with programs to help Tagbilaran.
