WANDERLUST
The hardest part of any journey is going back to where you first started, leaving wonderful memories behind. Every new adventure brings a new set of experiences to look forward to and cherish.
Travel rejuvenates the soul and opens up new boundaries for us to explore. It refreshes our weary spirits and gives us new energy to move forward.
Traveling broadens our horizons and our real life education. We learn many things from other cultures and people that could greatly help our own.
In governance it exposes us to practices that aid in nation building. We learn from the best practices of others and gain valuable lessons from their mistakes.
As leadership and governance should be encompassing, seeing ourselves from a different perspective helps us to be more effective.
It is important that we not be complacent and keep on challenging ourselves to build a better future for our people.
By exposing ourselves to the outside world when we travel we are helping ourselves. We are improving our interaction with others in a global community of nations.
But above all, traveling makes us challenge ourselves, making room for improvement. Yet sadly when coming back from a trip abroad we cannot help but compare our nation, often bringing a sense of frustration at how we could have been better.
Our country is so blessed. Endowed with a lot of natural beauty, resources and talent that others lack. But what happened? Where have we gone wrong that we lost our luster and our shot at being the darling of the crowd?
Yet we must not give up in desperation. We must learn to adapt and be resilient.
At the end of the day, have feet, will travel. A meaningful journey starts with a few steps that create wonderful memories we treasure along the way!
