Cong. Art Yap distributes Emergency Room Cards, medicines to Boheco linemen

Cong. Atty. Arthur Yap of the Murang Kuryente Partylist distributed Emergency Room Cards and maintenance medications to lineworkers of Bohol Electric Cooperatives I and II on June 15 and 16, 2026, part of his continuing health assistance program for constituents.

In Jagna town on June 15, Yap held an open dialogue with all BOHECO II linemen, hearing their concerns and gathering updates on the challenges they face in delivering reliable electric service in the province.

During the discussion, Yap briefed participants on House bills he has filed in Congress, saying the measures are intended to benefit workers, improve public services and support long-term community development.

He also gave updates on a proposed solar loan program being negotiated with the Pag-IBIG Fund and the Government Service Insurance System.

The program seeks to make solar energy systems more affordable through flexible financing, helping lower electricity costs while promoting renewable energy use.

The Emergency Room Cards distributed during the activity entitle recipients to expedited medical attention at partner hospitals nationwide.

Yap’s office said the assistance comes from the congressman’s personal resources rather than government funds.

The congressman also gave out free medicines from RiteMED, along with maintenance medications for chronic conditions, including antihypertensive and antidiabetic drugs, to help cooperative employees manage ongoing health needs.

Yap said the move reflects his commitment to ensuring constituents have access to timely health services.

“This is my obligation to the people. It’s important that our constituents get quick and convenient medical service,” Yap said.

Dr. Elmer Nuez, Murang Kuryente Partylist consultant, joined Yap in the distribution to help ensure beneficiaries received appropriate medical guidance.
