Police arrested two high-value individuals in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Bohol province over the past week, seizing a combined total of more than 926 grams of suspected shabu worth over P6.3 million, provincial police said.
In the first operation, police arrested a 33-year-old suspect known by the alias “Ehid” at 2:33 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2026 in Purok 7, Barangay Mansasa, Tagbilaran City. The suspect, single and unemployed, is a resident of Purok 3 in the same barangay.
Authorities seized 375 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, worth P2.55 million based on the standard drug price.
Also recovered were the buy-bust money, a sling bag allegedly used to store the drugs, an Android cellphone and a Honda Click 125 motorcycle allegedly used for transportation.
In the second operation, police arrested Jose Benan Del Rosario, 31, unemployed and a resident of Barangay Tabajan, Guindulman, at 8:55 p.m. Friday, July 17, in Purok 7, Barangay San Isidro, Dauis town.
Six large sachets and three medium sachets of suspected shabu with a gross weight of 551.1 grams and an estimated standard drug price of P3.75 million were seized from Del Rosario.
Police also recovered a cellphone, a pouch bag used as a drug container, P1,000 in marked money, 11 pieces of P1,000 boodle money and a motorcycle allegedly used in the transaction.
Both suspects face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The Tagbilaran operation was led by PLt. Noubell L. Padernal and PLt. Dave H. Surio, while the Dauis operation was directly supervised by Surio and Padernal in coordination with the Dauis Municipal Police Station.
Both operations were carried out by the Provincial Intelligence Unit/Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of the Bohol Police Provincial Office under PLt. Col. Joemar S. Pomarejos, chief of the unit, under the overall command of Bohol Police Provincial Director PCol. Patricio Degay Jr.
The suspect arrested in Tagbilaran is detained at the Tagbilaran City Police Station, while Del Rosario is held at the Dauis Municipal Police Station lock-up facility.
Seized evidence from both cases has been turned over to the Bohol Forensics Unit for laboratory examination and custody as charges are being prepared against both suspects.
