Tagbilaran’s Bool new multi-use sports facility to open this month
Tagbilaran City will open its new Multi-Use Sports Facility in Barangay Bool this month.
The project aims to expand opportunities for athletes, youth, and families.
Mayor Jane Yap announced the opening and called it a major investment in sports development, recreation, and youth empowerment.
The complex includes a covered gymnasium, an international-standard padel court, a children’s play area, and a clubhouse with comfort rooms and showers.
City officials said it will host local, regional, and national events, while also serving residents of Bool and nearby communities.
Officials expect the facility to boost sports tourism and bring more economic activity to local businesses.
Mayor Yap said the project reflects the city’s commitment to a healthier, more active community.
She said, “This is an investment in our people, especially in the next generation of Tagbilaranons. By providing quality sports and recreational facilities, we are creating more opportunities for our youth, supporting athletic development, and promoting a healthier and more livable city.”
She noted the project was completed while Tagbilaran maintained its zero-loan status.
Mayor Yap also thanked Senator Pia Cayetano for supporting the city’s sports and youth programs.
The Bool facility is part of Tagbilaran’s wider push to expand public sports infrastructure and promote wellness and sustainable growth.

City stakeholders finalize integrated plan to protect Tagbilaran coast
The City Government of Tagbilaran held a two-day writeshop for the city’s Integrated Coastal Management (ICM) Plan on August 10–11, 2026 at JJ’s Seafood Village.
The activity was led by the Tagbilaran City Environmental Management Office (TCEMO) with technical support from Catholic Relief Services (CRS).
Representatives from key city departments, national government agencies, and partner organizations joined the writeshop to draft a comprehensive framework for coastal resource management.
Planning sessions focused on major components of the proposed ICM Plan.
These included environmental profiling, coastal zoning, climate change adaptation, fisheries management, coastal resource protection, and law enforcement strategies.
Participating offices included the City Planning and Development Office, City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), City Health Office, and City Agriculture and Veterinary Office.
Other stakeholders involved in environmental management and coastal governance also took part.
TCEMO officials said the writeshop was designed to ensure the ICM Plan adopts a unified, science-based, and multi-sectoral approach.
The goal is to balance environmental preservation with sustainable development objectives.
Mayor Jane Yap said the completion of the writeshop represents an important step in protecting Tagbilaran’s coastal ecosystems.
She added it will also strengthen the city’s long-term climate resilience strategy.
The city government noted that the ICM Plan is expected to serve as a strategic guide.
It will guide future coastal management policies, environmental protection programs, and sustainable development initiatives in Tagbilaran City.
TCEMO Head Engr. Raul Aparicio II said the outputs generated during the writeshop will undergo further refinement.
They will also undergo consultation with stakeholders before the Integrated Coastal Management Plan is finalized and adopted for implementation.
