About 1,300 graduates of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, or TESDA, were expected to seek jobs Tuesday (Sept. 1, 2026) at a fair marking the agency’s 32nd anniversary, provincial director Floro Ringca said.
The “World Café of Opportunities” job fair, held at the Bohol Cultural Center, brought together 15 local and six overseas employers along with government agencies including the Department of Labor and Employment, the Department of Trade and Industry, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, the Philippine Information Agency, the National Bureau of Investigation, the Social Security System, the Professional Regulation Commission and the Philippine Statistics Authority.
TESDA organized the event with the Department of Labor and Employment and the Bohol Employment and Placement Office, known as BEPO, to connect its graduates — trained and holding national certifications in industry-required skills — directly with employers.
Ringca said the fair aims to link government and private agencies with graduates of technical-vocational training and to support programs that upgrade workers’ skills.
TESDA was created under Republic Act 7796 and was established Aug. 25, 1994.
Republic Act 10970 later designated Aug. 25 as National TechVoc Day, which the agency marks each year with the job fair.
Ringca also addressed concerns about fraudulent certifications, saying fake TESDA credentials are easy to detect and that every graduate of the agency is properly trained and accredited.
