UB, PDRRMO-Bohol Strengthen Disaster and Crisis Management
“CHANCES ALWAYS FAVOR THE PREPARED ONES.”- Plato – The University of Bohol Incident Management Team, together with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), strengthen an alliance to enhance disaster preparedness and ensure the safety of the UB community during a coordination meeting held at the University on September 2, 2026.

In a spirit of collaboration, the University of Bohol (UB) and the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) have strengthened their partnership to enhance disaster preparedness and ensure the safety and security of the university community during emergencies and other unforeseen situations.
During a coordination meeting held on September 2, 2026, at Conference Hall 2 of the University of Bohol, representatives from the PDRRMO and the University’s Crisis Management Team aligned their disaster preparedness plans, response protocols, and coordination strategies. The meeting aimed to ensure a unified, efficient, and well-coordinated response to any emergency that may arise across the university’s three campuses.
As part of the partnership, the PDRRMO committed to deploying a standby emergency response team during major university events to provide immediate assistance and strengthen public safety measures.
The collaboration comes as the University of Bohol prepares for its University Days celebration this October, which will include a major concert at the Victoriano B. Tirol Jr. Sports Complex featuring Lola Amour, Joseph Gara, Brown Buds, Mateo, and Janine Teñoso.
The University will also host its Grand Alumni Homecoming on July 9–10, 2027, bringing together alumni from various generations in a celebration of friendship, fellowship, and the University’s enduring legacy. These major events form part of the University of Bohol’s 80th Founding Anniversary celebration, commemorating its rich history and legacy as an institution that began as Rafael Palma College.
The strengthened coordination underscores both institutions’ commitment to ensuring that all activities are conducted in a safe, secure, and disaster-ready environment. (Leo Armando B. Boncales)
