Batuan Vice Mayor Antonino “Dodo” Jumawid (seated, center) led the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) on Sept. 21, 2026 to tackle declaring a State of Calamity to help farmers who spent for land preparation but could not plant and could not claim insurance from the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) due to El Niño. The SB directed the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator (MPDC) and Local Finance Committee (LFC) Chair to use the 5% Calamity Trust Fund for water supply projects, and asked the MPDC, LFC chair and MDRRMO to present a utilization plan.
