Tagbilaran welcomes 3 new business openings
Three new businesses recently opened in Tagbilaran City.
The openings contribute to the city’s growing commercial activity.
They also reflect sustained investor interest in the local market.
Seed Coffee, Getklean Bohol, and Nelly’s Gold Trading formally launched their operations in September.
Seed Coffee, located along V.P. Inting Avenue in Barangay Poblacion I, held its blessing and opening on September 28, 2026.
On the same day, Getklean Bohol held its ribbon-cutting ceremony along Gallares Street in Barangay Poblacion II.
Earlier, on September 12, 2026, Nelly’s Gold Trading held its grand opening at the Lite Port Center Bohol.
Mayor Jane Yap welcomed the new establishments.
She noted that every new business contributes to the movement of the local economy.

Tagbilaran City rolls out free PE uniforms for learners
Around 10,000 public elementary students in Tagbilaran City will receive free physical education (PE) uniforms from the City Government.
The initiative is part of the city’s continuing support for education and for Tagbilaranon families.
Mayor Jane Yap led the initial distribution at Cabawan Elementary School on September 28, 2026.
The rollout marked the start of the citywide distribution.
The program is among the activities lined up for Tagbilaran City’s 60th Charter Anniversary and the 34th National Family Week.
It reflects the city government’s thrust to extend practical assistance to students and their families.
Mayor Yap said the provision of uniforms aims to ease school-related expenses for parents.
She added that it also ensures students have the proper attire for their physical education activities.
“Providing school needs, even in simple ways, can make a difference to our families,” Yap said.
“This is our way of helping parents with their expenses while making sure our children have what they need for school,” she added.
The distribution continued in other public elementary schools across the city.
Uniforms were distributed at Ubujan Elementary School on October 7, at Taloto Elementary School on October 8, and at Booy Elementary School on October 9.
The program complements the city’s broader education initiatives.
It underscores the City Government’s focus on making assistance more responsive to the everyday needs of Tagbilaranon families.
The initiative is also aligned with this year’s 60th Charter Anniversary theme, “One Family, One City: Shaped by the Pamilyang Tagbilaranon.”
The theme highlights the city government’s commitment to supporting children and families as part of the larger Tagbilaranon community.

Tagbilaran honors fathers in ERPAT Day celebration
The City Government of Tagbilaran, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), celebrated ERPAT Day 2026 on October 4, 2026, at the Saulog Gymnasium.
The activity highlighted the vital role of fathers in strengthening families and building supportive communities.
It gathered members of the Empowerment and Reaffirmation of Paternal Abilities and Talents (ERPAT), a program that promotes responsible fatherhood and encourages men to take an active role in their families and communities.
Mayor Jane Yap and Vice Mayor Adam Jala graced the occasion and expressed their support for the participating fathers.
The celebration featured fellowship games and the induction of new ERPAT officers of Barangay Poblacion II.
As part of the assistance extended by Mayor Yap and the City Government, ERPAT members received free lunch, haircuts, and rice.
In her message, Mayor Yap thanked the ERPAT members for their contributions to their families and communities.
She emphasized the important role of fathers in building stronger and more stable households.
This year’s celebration carried the theme, “Padre De Familia: Haligi sa Panimalay, Kaagapay sa Mental Wellness ug Positibong Pag-atiman Alang sa Usa ka Pamilya, Usa ka Dakbayan.”
The theme underscored the role of fathers not only as providers but also as partners in promoting family well-being and mental wellness.
Mayor Yap also expressed appreciation to the ERPAT members and CSWDO personnel whose efforts contributed to the successful conduct of the celebration.
The activity forms part of the city’s continuing efforts to strengthen family-centered programs and to recognize fathers as active partners in promoting the welfare of families.
