BOHECO II energizes P168.65M in power projects in Getafe

Bohol II Electric Cooperative Inc. (BOHECO II) held a blessing ceremony Oct. 22, 2026 for the Tulang 5-megavolt-ampere (MVA) substation and the 23.3-kilometer Trinidad-Getafe 69-kilovolt (kV) sub-transmission line, a milestone for electricity infrastructure in northern Bohol.

The two facilities, with a combined project value of P168,652,070.44 pesos, have been fully energized and operational since Sept. 30.

The projects are part of BOHECO II’s continuing efforts to improve power distribution, address voltage-related concerns and strengthen electricity service in the towns of Getafe and Buenavista and nearby communities.

The Tulang substation, valued at P47.5 million pesos, has three feeders designed to enhance distribution capability and help mitigate critical voltage drops. Its operation is expected to improve voltage regulation and provide a more dependable electricity supply for the communities it serves.

The Trinidad-Getafe line, valued at P121,152,070.44 pesos, strengthens the power network serving the Getafe area and provides an essential link in BOHECO II’s electricity distribution system.

The blessing ceremony followed a groundbreaking in February 2026. The projects are intended to support the growing electricity needs of communities in northern Bohol.

BOHECO II thanked the local governments of Buenavista and Getafe, particularly Mayors Dave Duallo and Cary Camacho, for attending the event and for their continued support and partnership. The cooperative applauded the leadership of both municipalities and the collective efforts of their communities in advancing local development.

The cooperative also thanked Bohol Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado and Rep. Maria Vanessa “Van-Van” Cadorna Aumentado of Bohol’s 2nd District for their support. Florencio “Jun” Flores Jr., executive assistant for the provincial government of Bohol, attended the ceremony as the governor’s official representative and conveyed their messages and support for the projects.

BOHECO II acknowledged the cooperation of the landowners who made the Tulang substation site available and the property owners along the Trinidad-Getafe route who allowed line poles to be installed on their properties.

The cooperative also recognized Tulang Punong Barangay Raque P. Pacaldo and the barangay officials for their assistance and cooperation in implementing the project and holding the blessing ceremony.

Above all, BOHECO II thanked its member-consumer-owners (MCOs) for their continued trust and support. As a non-stock, nonprofit electric cooperative, it said it is committed to directing its resources toward strengthening electricity infrastructure and improving service for the communities it serves.

With both facilities now operational, BOHECO II reaffirmed its commitment to building a stronger and more dependable power network, supporting local economic development and responding to the evolving electricity needs of its MCOs.

Bohol II Electric Cooperative Inc. is a non-stock, nonprofit electric cooperative owned by its member-consumer-owners. It serves 21 municipalities in Bohol and is committed to providing dependable electricity distribution services and developing power infrastructure for the benefit of its members and the communities it serves.
