Unidentified assailants who remain at large shoot dead a man from Trinidad town. The incident happened on Sept. 19, 2020 in barangay Tagum Sur, Trinidad, a police report provided to The Bohol Tribune says.

Police identified the slain victim as Virgilio Otara Jr., 24, of purok 1, barangay Tagum Sur, Trinidad.

The police report reveals that the victim was killed by two (2) unidentified suspects who were riding in tandem and remain at large.

Initial investigation reveals the victim, prior to the shooting incident, was in his motorcycle repair shop, busy repairing a busted motorcycle. The victim was with his wife at this time.

After which, the suspects arrived at the crime scene riding a motorcycle in tandem. One of the two suspects, who was the backrider, alighted from the motorcycle and approached the victim. The suspect then shot the victim at close range, using a still undetermined caliber of firearm, the report states.

Moreover, the victim sustained gunshot wounds in the head and the neck following the shooting incident.

The report adds that thereafter, the suspects fled after perpetrating the murder of the victim, towards an undertermined direction.

The report indicates that the victim was brought to the Don Emilio del Valle Memorial Hospital in Ubay town but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician Dr. Henry Ganub.

Police said that they have recovered a cartridge case of a .45 caliber and also a slug of a caliber .45.

Police immediately conducted a hot pursuit operation following the incident to go after the perpetrators of the murder, the report bares.
