First district Rep. Edgar Chatto revealed on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, that each Filipino will receive P2,000 in cash assistance, if the Bayanihan 3 bill becomes a law.
The solon made the revelation during an interview on Tuesday, over Newsmakers ug Uban Pa Radio Program hosted by Ardy and Chandymar Araneta Batoy.
Chatto quipped that the House of Representatives is currently discussing the intricacies of the said bill after the lower chamber resumed its regular sessions on Monday, May 17, 2021.
The main feature of the bill is the provision of cash assistance to be given to each Filipino.
The first district congressman said that each Filipino may get P2,000 each. This means a family of five persons will get P10,000, in the event the said bill passes into law.
Chatto tempered the expectations of the public that the bill is still under discussion in the House and will go through tight scrutiny before it becomes a law.
This proposal of cash assistance to all Filipinos will cost the Philippine government around P216 billion and the plan is to release the cash assistance in two tranches where each Filipino will receive P1,000 per tranche.
The first district solon said that the said bill aims to put in place additional mechanisms to accelerate the recovery and guarantee the resilience of the Philippine economy.
The bill is also known as the Bayanihan To Arise As One Act, if it will be approved by the House of Representatives and the Senate, Chatto explained.
Meanwhile, he bared that the bill has 3 components namely: 1. Kabuhayan (livelihood) which refers to the programs aiming for sustainable livelihood and business resilience, 2. Kalinga (care) – which refers to social amelioration program for those impacted by the pandemic, and 3. Kalusugan (health) – which refers to the programs on health intervention.
