Penales (seated at right, facing camera) led the focus group discussion with members of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) during the conduct of the disaster management workshop that ran from June 30 to July 2, 2021. The workshop aims to help Dauis local government unit to formulate strategies, strengthen community resilience and create plans for emerging threats. Dauis mayor Marietta Sumaylo (left) and Dauis’ Liga ng mga Barangay president Josever Sumaylo (right) lead the conduct of a disaster management training participated in by department heads and selected section heads, according to an information from the LGU released on Thursday, July 1, 2021.The said training, held at the Bluewater Resort in Danao, Panglao, Bohol, was slated to end on Friday, July 2, 2021. The training focused on the 3 major areas of concern as mandated by Republic Act 10121 such as planning and formulation with a workshop on plans fot Local Climate Change, Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, and Earthquake Contingency. The training aimed to provide and formulate strategies, strengthen community resilience, and formulate plans to prevent emerging threats coming from natural disasters.
