Gov. Arthur Yap thanked the Miss Universe Philippines (MUP) organization for choosing Bohol, in particular, Panglao, to be the host of the coronation night.

The governor sees the staging of the pageant here as a huge boost in the tourism industry of the province currently in the doldrums due to the impact of the Coronavirus disease (Covid) pandemic.

“Makatabang sila sa dungang nga dungog sa tourism industry nato sa Bohol,” the governor said during the weekly virtual press conference on Oct. 1, 2021.

He also thanked the various tourism stakeholders and workers for their efforts and contribution to help the staging of the MUP here a rousing success.

In a separate post, Panglao councilor Amira Alia Montero-Caindec thanked the MUP organization for choosing Panglao as the venue for its grand coronation night.

“Thank you MUP organisation for choosing Panglao,Bohol, and for giving hope and optimism to the bleeding tourism industry .Thank you for choosing to involve our Panglao youth & artists on the production team,” Montero-Caindec said in her post.

Moreover, the MUP organization thanked Bohol and Panglao for hosting the coronation night.

“We’d like to thank the Municipality of Panglao and the Province of Bohol for being the host of this year’s coronation night! From the great sights, the food, and the hospitality, our finalists definitely had a great time exploring God’s Little Paradise. Universe, behold Bohol!” the MUP organization said in a post on its official Facebook page.

SUCCESSFUL STAGING

The MUP successfully staged its grand coronation night on Sept. 30, 2021 at the Henann Resort Convention Center.

The MUP crowned its new queen, Cebu City’s Beatrice Luigi Gomez.  Gomez succeeds Rabiya Mateo of Iloilo City and will be the country’s bet in the Miss Universe 2021 pageant that will be held in Israel in Dec. 2021.

Gomez topped 27 other candidates for the crown, a report says.

Moreover, Miss Taguig Katrina Dimaranan was chosen Miss Universe Philippines Tourism rand Miss Cavite Victoria Velasquez Vincent was adjudged as Miss Universe Philippines Charity.

Furthermore, Miss Pangasinan Maureen Wroblewitz was named first runner-up.

Likewise, Miss Cebu Province Steffi Rose Aberasturi was declared second runner-up.
